There was something off about Cave. It bothered her as she made his coffee and plagued her mind as she went about typing up his reports. By time she had to bring him his lunch, she was convinced she had to ask him. It was probably all in her head, the lack of that personal smile in the morning, the quietness on the radio between her desk and his.
No, it was probably all in her head. Not worth worrying about and certainly not worth bothering him over. With a deep breath, Caroline lifted his lunch tray and knocked twice before stepping into his office.
"Here is your lunch, Sir."

She was blonde, clearly pretty. The woman had a cute, schoolgirl like giggle she used to full effect as she leaned forward, showing a bold familiarity with the Aperture CEO. She was the kind of woman that had plagued Caroline as she fought her way through a male dominated workspace.
It took a few moments for Cave's attention to shift over to anything but the mystery woman.
"Hmm? Oh! Caroline. No need for lunch today I'm afraid. I'll be stepping out to catch a bite with my new lady friend...have you met elena yet?"
Even when addressing his assistant, Cave barely glances at Caroline using more than his periphery vision. When prompted, Elena takes a small bow, not bothering to stand.
"Charmed, I'm sure."
